hibi is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a board of timers, lists, notes and links. It is built so that everything stays on your device.
What hibi stores
hibi saves only what you put on your board:
- your cards and their contents (to-dos, notes, links, timers, counters and so on),
- the layout of your board,
- your theme choice.
This data is kept in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer. It is not synced to your Google account, and it is removed when you uninstall hibi.
What hibi does not do
- It does not collect, transmit or sell any data. hibi makes no network requests of its own.
- It has no accounts, analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party services.
- It does not read your browsing history, the pages you visit, or any other tab.
When you open a link saved on your board, Chrome opens that website the same way it would if you typed the address yourself. That site's own privacy policy then applies.
Backups
Export backup saves your board as a JSON file to a place you choose on your computer.Import reads a backup file you pick. Both happen entirely on your device. hibi never uploads these files.
Permissions
- storage
- Saves your board on your device.
- alarms
- Lets timers and Pomodoro sessions finish on time, even when no new tab is open.
- notifications
- Shows an alert when a timer finishes.
